How Do Polaris Pool Cleaners Work?

Author: admin  //  Category: Pools

Cleaning your swimming pool can be a daunting task. It can take hours standing there slowly pushing a vacuum along the bottom of your pool, in the hot sun. Not to mention this is time  that could be spent swimming and actually enjoying your swimming pool. So why not just purchase an automatic pool cleaner.

Polaris pool cleaners are the most popular automatic swimming pool cleaners on the market and they make several different models. The most popular models are the Polaris 360, 380 and 280. Unlike suction side pool cleaners or robotic pool cleaners they work using your pool’s water pressure.

The water that your pool filter pushes back into your swimming pool is what a Polaris pool cleaner uses to power itself. A hose from the cleaner attaches to your return line feeding the cleaner water pressure. It uses that pressure to move the wheels which allows it to move around your swimming pool and even up the sides of the walls.

Some of that pressure is also used to spray water  up and into a filter bag that is on the top of the cleaner. By pointing these water jets up and into the bag it helps to create a current or vortex that lifts the dirt and debris off the bottom of the pool and into the fine mesh filter bag.

The best thing about Polaris pool cleaners is the fact that they are so popular so if any thing goes wrong with your cleaner you can find the nearest pool shop and they will most likely be able to fix it or offer the correct parts. They have been around for years and are not going away and they still remain the best pressure side swimming pool cleaner on the market. The Polaris 360 requires no booster pump but the 280 and the 380 do.
